Across East Africa children face starvation because of drought. In Somalia more than a million children could die. We’re on the ground saving lives but we need your support to reach more children. We must act now. Please help us
Ten million people face a devastating food crisis across East Africa as drought has wiped out livestock, crops and income.PrideStart is on the ground saving lives.
We’re rapidly providing food, water, medicine and crucial support to families who have lost their incomes.
But millions of children need help and we urgently need more funds to reach them.

Aids/ H I V projects

The Africa Project is committed to helping meet the most basic needs of children living in extreme poverty especially those orphaned or made vulnerable by the AIDS pandemic in Africa. This means providing financial resources to ensure that they have a safe place to live, food, access to medical care and opportunities to go to school. By donating what you can, you will make a real difference in the lives of children. Our top priority in 2010 is to provide much needed support for children living in child-headed families.

The Hospital Equipments Project
The project is teaming up with hospitals in the hope of saving thousands of lives in Africa. The project is to to deliver desperately needed medical equipment to hospitals across the poverty-stricken countries in Africa.
High tech hospital equipment - including ventilators, heart monitors and operating theatre kit are needed in Africa. We do identify equipments which would be useful in Africa, bringing it into the country and placing it in facilities where it is most needed.
The equipments will be used directly for patient care.  In some cases, it will replace non-functional equipment; in others, it will supplement existing equipment.  In all cases, it will enable staff to better care for their patients, extend the services and treatment available, and support the provision of high-quality care to the mothers and infants at in Africa.African poorest countries in the world, medical equipment, facilities and staff are desperately needed. The health infrastructure is in turmoil; it is overburdened and vastly under-resourced.   It is also ravaged by HIV and AIDS.
The African's health facilities are staggeringly sparse, with severe shortages of medical staff, medicine and even anaesthetics for operations.

The Disabled Equipments Project.

We collect and recycle disabled equipment that ordinarily would be unnecessarily disposed of in the UK and  distribute the disabled equipment abroad to focus areas that the organisation decides.
We help promote projects that will develop skills for disabled people's education and employment regardless of their disability, including the manufacture or repair of disabled equipment, e.g. canes for the blind, wheelchairs etc.
We provide support for disabled people in different ways such as workshops, group meetings, social centers, library loan service for the blind, sports competitions and self support networks.
We try to source items locally when it would be more cost effective, or of benefit to the local community.

I T & Educational Project

PrideStart works with distribution partners in several African countries, who are responsible for selecting schools, distributing computers, training teachers and providing ongoing support. The partners are typically charities or NGOs with specialist knowledge of IT and education.

PrideStart work in Africa is divided between its collaborative Country Programmes with partner
charities and Other Projects which it runs independently. The projects aim to improve literacy and numeracy and raise awareness of HIV AIDS.

Sports Equipment for Africa project

The project aims for campaign calls for you to give generously any sports equipment towards programmes in Africa.Equipments needed are Football:Give equipment to a leading  African football academy, Right for Hope.Equipment such as deflated footballs, training equipment, boots, shin pads and clothing would be gratefully received.Equipment such as rackets, balls, training equipment, shoes and clothing would be gratefully received.

Whilst there are many problems that need to be addressed ahead of sporting opportunity, this project aims to improve the lives of those who struggle to play any sport for lack of facilities. The children are often underprivileged and, as we all know, there is a general lacking of opportunity in Africa compared to the position here in the UK.
